Exceptional pedigree, Fully round on a broad flan, double struck on reverse with rotation between strikings evident, toned practically extremely fine, rare.

Charles I (1625 – 49), Crown, Tower Mint Under Parliament, type V, King on horseback left holding upright sword that intrudes legend, flowing sash behind, beaded circles and legend surrounding both sides, initial mark sun (1645-6) both sides, rev. oval quartered shield of arms, inverted N in legend, 29.74g (Cooper dies XXVII/XXXIX; Brooker 275; N.2199; S.2762).
